Many visitors came to the Kárahnjúkar area in July, more than was expected even. The Hálslón reservoir and the dams obviously attract tourists and the staff on site has remarked on how the visitors seem enthusiastic and positive the majority of the guests have been.   Shotcrete operations were carried out in the Jökulsárgöng tunnel in week 30 and work was also done at the buildings outside and at the intake and overspill at the Ufsarstífla dam.

35 thousand square metres were added to the Kelduárstífla dam and boulders were put in place to form a protective wall on the dam. Valve equipment was installed at the Kelduárgöng tunnel outtake by the Slovenian contractor Montavar.
